I read this article in the New York Times technology section yesterday and I was in shock! It talks about how although Apple is the #1 seller in smartphones as of now…5 years from now this might not be the case. With Apple competitors “awaiting a chance” to dominate the smartphone industry, it makes me wonder who will take over. It’s going to be a strange occurrence when Apple does not lead the pack anymore. We have been so “Apple this” and “Apple that” that it almost seems natural to have Apple on top. The article says that by 2016 most smart phones will be under $300 — Mr. Shao stated, ““I think currently the biggest trend is not the price, but the capability.”

Could this be–beloved Apple no longer taking over the world? What do you think…who will reign in 5 years?
