Windows XP is officially a dead operating system walking.
As someone who loved XP (far more than I like Windows 7, quite frankly), I’m a bit sad to see this come up.
On a less subjective note, this is a testament to how rapidly technology is evolving. The system originally came out in 2001, and, in 2014, support for it will be officially cut off. Microsoft is suggesting that companies that still use the system begin upgrading now and not wait until Windows 8 comes out.
It’s almost as if technology could be measured in dog years. 11 years old may seem pretty young for a human, but for technology, it’s actually a decent lifespan (at least, it is during this time of rapid technological advancement).
